Whitpain Police Association Thank's You

The Whitpain Police Association would like to extend it’s appreciation to the residents and businesses in our township for the great response to our 2014 newsletter. The contributions we have received over past years have been invested back into our township in many ways. They have been put toward supporting community related events and funding for medical benefits for retired Whitpain Township police officers. Without your contributions, we would not be able to assist with these beneficial community programs.

For years now the WPA has supported the Township Community Harvest Festival by sponsoring one of the events. Last year Whitpain Township combined their annual Community Harvest Festival with the Montgomery County Community College’s Community Day. It was a great event that took advantage of all the area that Montgomery County Community College had to offer. There was something for everyone including health services, bands, games, vendors, emergency equipment, and more. The night’s finale was the

fireworks display. Unfortunately the weather put a bit of a damper on things, but it was still a great event. The WPA again sponsored the “Children’s Games” area. This year’s event is scheduled for September 26th. We are continuing our partnership with the Whitpain Recreational Association by supporting the baseball program. We will also provide financial support to various charities and the Annual Law Enforcement holiday food drive.

Please read the entire newsletter and take note of special events planned for 2015. We had such a great turn out for our electronics recycling and shredder event last year. Unfortunately the township will not be able to host an electronics recycling event this year, however the shredder event is a go and will be held on Saturday May 9, 2015. We also have the return of the WPA Car Show. Keep an eye on the township website ( and subscribe to the Whitpain Wire for updated information about events throughout the township and specific information about the electronics recycling.

We hope this newsletter will keep you informed of what is going on within the police department and the Whitpain Police Association’s many activities. In 2015, the Association hopes to continue to maintain its community involvement and support to our retired members. We are always looking for new ways to give back to Whitpain Township. If you or your organization has a project or endeavor in mind and believe our Association may be of assistance, please contact us. Through this joint cooperation we will continue to make Whitpain Township a great place to live and work.
